About Me
We have 4 married children and we all have born again Christian homes, for which I am very thankful. We are delighted to see this passed down from generation to generation. I am a people person and love visiting, and helping them too, in any way I can. I love a good cup of hot tea with friends, neighbors, or family. And now blogging has become my latest passion, many thanks to a wonderful grandson. May you all find the joy, peace and happiness in our Lord Jesus Christ that I have found.
Memorial Flag
Posted by clare3
I got the box for my husband's Memorial Flag a couple of days ago. They are made in shop class by the high school boys. It is very nice and well made. It has a name place on it with his name and "Korean" to show which war he was in. It is a good way to keep the flag nice and pass it down through generations. Christmas
Posted by clare3
I went to my daughter's for Christmas on Christmas Day. Her 3 children and wives and fiancee and 5 grandchildren were all there. It was really a great deal of fun watching the little ones open their gifts. Some of them are almost more interested in the boxes and paper than they are interested in the toys. It is hilarious at times to watch them tearing open the packages. We had a wonderful dinner and played a new game that was fun. A good time was had by all. Daisy
Posted by clare3
Daisy is my sister's basset hound. She got her from a neighbor who moved into a smaller place and didn't have a good place to keep her. My sister had been going over almost every day, while they lived there, and petting Daisy. So when the people moved, they asked my sister if she would like to have Daisy. She had a dog some years ago and decided she would take Daisy. She is very well behaved and she brought her along today to visit me. Daisy remembered me from October when I saw her at my sister's house. Labels: dog, Family, sister visit
Christmas Cards
Posted by clare3
This is the time of year when you get to catch up on what your friends and family have been doing all year. Often they send along a letter with their Christmas card. It gives you a time of relaxation to sit down and read their letters. How the children have grown and often there is a photo of the family. It is a pleasure to go to the mailbox these days and find a Christmas card waiting for you to open. Labels: Christmas Cards, Family, letters
Pool Cover
Posted by clare3
It is such a delight to have a home with a swimming pool. However, you also have to consider the dangers to children and also the elderly. By having a pool cover made to fit your pool, you can keep accidents from happening by the pool. The area around the pool can often be wet and slippery. Both the elderly and children are susceptible to slipping and falling into the pool accidentally. A Pool Cover is a great way to enable you to pleasantly view your pool and yet keep others safe who could slip and fall into the pool. Children generally see no danger and eagerly want to get into swimming pools. You, of course, supervise them but in a split second they could slip and be in danger of drowning. Newest Addition to the Family

Here is the newest addition to the family with his big sister. She sure loves him and his little brother does too. Labels: Family, new great grandson
It is so neat to have a new baby at Christmas time. A real gift for the family. What a blessing. He is growing so fast already. It is amazing how fast they grow.
Sharing Chili
Posted by clare3
I made the best batch of chili the other day. It turned out just perfectly. I decided to take my daughter a sample and see if she agreed. She thought it was great too and had it for her lunch. I was so glad I took it along with other things I was returning to her. It is so nice having her living close by here in town now and being able to visit back and forth more.
Rental Homes
Posted by clare3
Sometimes when you move you would rather look into rental homes rather than purchasing a home. Perhaps you have moved quite a bit and do not want to be tied down to a home you have bought because often it takes so long to sell them again. When you are ready to move, it is always wise to check out the area and contact the people who are renting homes. In looking at the Internet, I found you could fill out a few bits of information regarding location and find a good selection of homes in the area to which you wish to move. It certainly takes some stress out of moving. Labels: Internet, moving, rental homes
Decorating a cute Christmas tree on a budget
Posted by clare3
Guest post written by Amelia Tate
I think that if I'm going to do something, especially for my home, it's worth spending a little more time on so that it ends up looking really cute. Right now I'm concentrating on really making my Christmas tree something cute. I've spent so much time decorating the rest of my apartment that it only makes sense to have an equally cute tree!
I took some inspiration for my tree from some of my favorite interior blogs and while I was browsing through some of them, I ran across info on NJ Home Improvement. After I looked through it a little bit I decided to use them to redo my kitchen, which is in major need of some repairs.
I did track down some cheap tree decorations that I doctored up a little bit to look homemade and a lot more expensive. They're so cute! Just because I have some expensive, or expensive-looking taste doesnÕt mean that I have to blow my holidays budget on decorations. I have my eyes set on a really cute cocktail dress to wear to my boyfriendÕs New YearÕs Eve party instead.
Christmas Tea
Posted by clare3
I went to a Christmas brunch this morning and they served a hot Christmas tea. It was extra good. I like it much better than hot apple cider. I have a recipe for Christmas coffee but I should try and get the recipe for this as it was very good. We also had regular coffee along with it if you wanted and water, of course. They served a great brunch and I won't need anything now till supper time. Labels: apple cider, Christmas brunch, Christmas tea, Cooking
Fresh Cookies
Posted by clare3
Is there anyone out there who doesn't love a good warm cookie? I love them, especially if they are chocolate chip. However, I bought some ready made frozen chocolate chunk cookies that I think can beat out chocolate chip cookies. Fresh from the oven, they are so good. I got them out last night and baked a couple dozen. I share them with a neighbor who has a diabetic husband. She doesn't get a lot of sweets because it isn't good to have them around with his diabetes. These turned out especially good. Labels: baking, chocolate chunk cookies, fresh cookies
Good Neighbors
Posted by clare3
When we got a heavy snowfall on Saturday, the neighbor kids came and shoveled out in front of my garage and all the snow off the deck. That was sure kind of them. Their Mom sent over cookies for me too. I was looking outside to see which way the wind was going and the windmill wasn't turning. Then I saw there was a pile of snow under the blade so it couldn't turn. I put on my boots and waded through the snow and cleaned it off and now it is going around again. I also filled a near empty bird feeder and the birds are really eating. I am sure it is very hard for them to find something to eat with everything covered in 6 inches of snow. The prices are great and no doubt you will find just what you are looking for. Christmas will certainly be fun if this is found under the tree Christmas morning. Everyone in the family will greatly enjoy this and be so happy. Labels: Gears of War 3 xbox360
Bus Trip
Posted by clare3
i just got home from a wonderful five day bus trip to Branson, Missouri. I went with our local bank and they really do it up right. They make sure you see the top shows and have the best seats in the house. They also take you to the best places to eat along with trips to the shopping malls. We took a Trail of Lights ride for 2 1/2 miles of magnificent Christmas lights. It was amazing. Then another night before a show we went through the Branson trail of lights in another area. It was truly a fun trip.

Barcode Scanner
Posted by clare3
Barcode scanners have certainly become a very important part of our lives in every way. Industrial businesses, of course, use a barcode scanner to mark their products that are ready to ship. When they arrive at their destination, the recipient also uses barcode scanners to check the shipment in to be sure they have received the correct products. I was in the hospital a while back and the nurses all use them to make sure they are giving the correct patient the correct medicine. Of course, grocery stores have used them for years also. They are very important and the right kind is needed for each use and business. Labels: barcode scanner
