We have 4 married children and we all have born again Christian homes, for which I am very thankful. We are delighted to see this passed down from generation to generation. I am a people person and love visiting, and helping them too, in any way I can. I love a good cup of hot tea with friends, neighbors, or family. It seems like so many of our great grandchildren's birthdays fall in November and December. In fact we are expecting the arrival of another one on November 22. It has to make it a little hard for the parents when some fall almost next to each other. And grandparents are busy Christmas shopping and need to shop for birthday presents at the same time. Mexican Supper

Had a most delicious supper. Also had dessert which was great too. It was nice to get out to this place as I usually don't go out much at night. However, it was still a little light when I left for home and it was dark by the time I reached home. The great grandchildren joined us as we were ready to leave and it was so much fun to see how surprised they were to see me there too. They are a lot of fun and it's neat to hear the almost 4 year old call me great grandma.

Family and Birthdays

Today our twin grandchildren celebrate their 29th birthday. Each has two little children, the same age 1 and 3 yrs. Our granddaughter is expecting her third child on Nov. 22 so that won't be long. We have 11 great grandchildren and 2 more on the way. The family is really growing fast. We have 14 grandchildren so the great grandchildren are really going to outnumber them quickly, the way it is going. We were blessed to live to see 11 of the great grandchildren and I hope to see several more yet, Lord Willing.

Birthdays

It won't be long and all the birthdays will be starting for many of our little great grandchildren. Many of them are very close together. Most are in November and early December. We are expecting a new one on November 22. The parents do not want to know if it is a girl or a boy. They say there are too few surprises in life and this could be one of the surprises. Two Step Stool

I am very short and all my life I have had to have something to climb on in order to get into my cupboards or to get anything on top of the refrigerator or anything else that was at least five feet tall. Therefore I have always had a two step stool handy for all kinds of reaching articles. My two step stool is very old and I decided it was time to throw it out and get a new one. I found I could get a great two step stool with handrails. As I have grown older, I would feel much safer with those handrails. I just graduated from college in May and I was not prepared for all of the responsibilities of the real world. I got an apartment and set up all of my utilities, and I even looked at different texas electricity providers to see which would have the most reasonable rates. After my first paycheck, I realized that I would not be going out and spending money on whatever I wanted to like I did in college. My dad always told me that it is way easier to spend somebody else’s money than spend your own, and he was right. I cannot even imagine shopping around for clothes that I do not really need when I am barely able to make the rent payment. My parents told me that if I ever get in a bind and really need some money that they would help me out, but I am committed to doing everything on my own. I think this is because I want to prove to them that I can survive with the profession I have chosen. They did not support my decision to switch to an art majorin college. If I can make it on my own as an artist, I think they will finally see that I am responsible enough to make my own decisions.
Family Fun

i went down to my hometown this weekend and stayed with my sister Saturday and overnight into Sunday. Saturday we went to a bazaar and then also visited an 80 year old cousin that I had not seen in many years. We had a really good visit. We went to the best local restaurant for lunch and then came home and got ready for my 60th class reunion. There was a good turnout and had a good time. Sunday we went to church. We had gone there many years with our children when they were small and it was nice to visit again. Not many people are left that were there when we went. most have passed away. Flower Delivery

We just had a death in our immediate family and of course, one of the major choices we had to make is what kind of flower delivery we should choose. Naturally, we wanted to use our local greenhouse, but in checking the Internet, we also found we could order flowers to be sent directly to our local greenhouse and in that way we would be sure they would not only be appropriate, but fresh and beautiful. There was the matter of choosing a spray for the casket, along with what would be best for the children to express their love for their father. Because he was a Veteran, a red, white and blue theme was chosen and a beautiful bouquet of fresh carnations was decided upon. All the flowers were lovely and the price was right as well. And because time was short, it was very convenient to order by Internet, rather than try and get everyone together at the greenhouse. We were very pleased with the arrangements. Train Ride

I can remember way back when I was about 7, our teacher took us on a real train ride. It was probably about 20 miles one way and we had a great time. They took a picture of us all when we got back from our train ride and I still have it today. It sure brings back memories. Labels: Family, fun for kids, train rides
