About Me
We have 4 married children and we all have born again Christian homes, for which I am very thankful. We are delighted to see this passed down from generation to generation. I am a people person and love visiting, and helping them too, in any way I can. I love a good cup of hot tea with friends, neighbors, or family. And now blogging has become my latest passion, many thanks to a wonderful grandson. May you all find the joy, peace and happiness in our Lord Jesus Christ that I have found.
Moving Day
Posted by clare3
Grandaughter, husband and 2 kids moving to our town today. It is not a nice day, however. Zero visibility fog and drizzle all over. I hope it clears up by the time they get here to unload the truck. It will really be neat to have great grandkids so close by. Looking forward to seeing more of them. Labels: drizzle, moving day, zero fog

Wife's Still Working
Posted by clare3
I retired last year and my wife’s still working, mostly because she loves her job. She’s a principal at a local elementary school and what I first thought would be really lonely here at home has turned out to be some great time by myself. I’ve been able to do lots of things I never had the time to do before…for example, I’ve taken up trout fishing! I also started a small vegetable gardenin the back that I like to plant stuff in and when my wife wasn’t looking I ordered satellite service from Http://direc.TV so I could get all my favorite old westerns all the time. I love being here by myself and I know my wife’s only a couple of years away from retirement herself so I think I’m going to try to milk this as much as I can before this house gets crowded again. I’ve really liked having all this time to grow and reflect and most importantly, to relax here in my house! Labels: DirectTV, retirement, working
Hospitals
Posted by clare3
Hospitals are great places when you need them. We sure have needed one this week. My husband landed in the hospital Sunday night and has been there ever since. He has all kinds of catscans and tests. The food has been terrible. He did not have much of an appetite but when he saw the food they brought him, he lost the little bit of appetite he did have :0). The one day they brought him an actual delicious lunch, he was sick and could not eat it. I think they could use some new cooks.
ER
Posted by clare3
You can never get a doctor on the weekend unless you go to the ER. Our good ER is about 25 miles away. I called Ask A Nurse this morning and described my husbands symptoms to her and she said she would have the urologist on call give me a call. I have not heard from him. My husband was in a great deal of pain about 5 this morning and then he passed two clots in his urine and he has felt ok ever since. We are going to wait and see what happens. Perhaps he passed a kidney stone as the pain in his back is better too. Blood in the urine is always serious and we aren't taking this lightly and neither should any of you who are reading this and having the same problem. See a doctor, please. USB Barcode Scanner
Posted by clare3
When I had a job scanning the bar codes of all occasion cards in a local store, I used a good usb barcode scanner. There are a number of different types for the various manufacturers, stores and businesses. It is good to have a big selection of them so that you can choose which will work best for you. You can shop around and find some that are light weight and handy to use and will last you for many years. Often you can avail yourself of free shipping also, which is another advantage while shopping for the barcode scanner you need. Labels: light weight scanners, shop Internet, usb barcode scanner
Knee Revision
Posted by clare3
I had a knee revision on August 7, 2009 and today I had my 2 year checkup. It is doing very well. The doctor was quite surprised at how well I can straighten my leg and bend it. X-rays showed everything doing fine. For those of you who don't know what a knee revision is, let me tell you. That is when you have already had a knee replacement and it has come loose and is giving you pain. Then they take it out and put in another with longer parts going farther down into your leg and farther up into your thigh. I think I have done very well with it. This is my 3rd knee replacement. Saturday we are traveling down to see our son and daughter-in-law's new home. They have purchased a beautiful new home. Thanks to the Internet, we have been able to see it inside and out. Technology is wonderful. We are going to have a BBQ and everyone bringing food so that should be great. Labels: check Internet, Family, new home, technology
