We have 4 married children and we all have born again Christian homes, for which I am very thankful. We are delighted to see this passed down from generation to generation. I am a people person and love visiting, and helping them too, in any way I can. I love a good cup of hot tea with friends, neighbors, or family. It has gotten cold here and now we are beginning to get cold rains. I got a new rain coat to wear in the rain as I go out every day and you need to stay dry. But another thing I need is a good pair of women's rain boots. I started checking out the Internet to see what I could find and I found not only regular rain boots, but warm rain boots that will keep my feet toasty warm this winter. Thanksgiving Day

Thanksgiving day is tomorrow. We are invited to a great dinner but I am not sure if we will get to go. We had freezing rain all day and every thing is like an ice rink. I sure hope it warms enough and they get enough salt on the roads to melt it by tomorrow. I am looking forward to fun and fellowship with the family. I hope we don't have to stay at home. Chin Acne

Acne is an awful thing to have happen to anyone. Your complexion should be a thing of pride and not cause you to want to hide your face. There are so many acne products on the market and a good share of them do not work. When you have chin acne it seems to be the worst of all to treat. I think it is because when we eat, no doubt we get food in this area and I know we are constantly wiping our faces with napkins to be sure no food is hanging onto our mouth and face. We are hearing more and more about antioxidants and antibacterial products. Twas the Day Before Thanksgiving

And all through the house, the furnace was running as hard as it could. The wind outside was so blustery and strong and very very cold. Later it is supposed to rain and then freeze, making everything slippery. We have 25 miles to drive tomorrow so sure hope it isn't all icy and we have to stay home. I never go anywhere without my shoulder purse. I love them because when I am shopping, I know I will not lay it down somewhere while I pick up sweaters or other items to look at and then forget my purse. When I attend church, then I want a beautiful, small, good looking clutch purse to carry just the necessities I need. In shopping the Internet, I found a website that had every kind of purse I have ever wanted and in so many wonderful styles and colors. I often choose a new purse that zips across the top and has many compartments that I can organize. I feel comfortable when my purse is zipped shut as I know in busy shopping areas I do not have to worry about someone reaching into my bag and taking my checkbook without my knowing it. Mexican Supper

My husband has caught a heck of a cold and he wasn't feeling like going out to eat. We always go to the next town for TexMex on Thursday nights. But tonight, he just didn't feel like going out in the cold. So we ordered take out from the Mexican restaurant here in town. They have a special where you can order whatever you want in your platter, enchilada, chimichanga, burito, etc. I called in our order and it was ready in 5 minutes complete with chips and salsa. I had a great crispy chimichanga and my husband had the enchilada and we split the rice and beans. Deer Crossing

We went out for Tex Mex tonight. Just as we were approaching the restaurant out in the country, a deer slowly walked across the highway a couple of car lengths in front of us. We slowed way down because when you usually see one, then you see another following. However, this time there was just the one deer. It was in no hurry, just walked across the road like it owned it. November is rutting season and the deer really are on the run. The hunters are out but one told me today that the weather is too warm. Once they get the deer, they hang them up and when it is over 50 degrees, the meat will spoil so they have to take it to a locker. The lockers are all full right now and he had to drive about 75 miles on Saturday to get his deer into a locker. This particular locker had refrigerated semi trailers that they were keeping the deer in until they could get them all processed. He also told me to take your deer to a locker will cost you an arm and a leg to pay for it. You could buy great steaks at the store for a whole lot less but he loves to hunt and loves the deer meat. I thought I knew an awful lot about vitamins, minerals, supplements and the like, but I found I didn't know anything about biotin supplement. Dentist Visit

They found a cavity the last time my husband went to the dentist. So this morning, we will be heading out to the next town to the dentist to have his tooth filled. We have found a great dentist and have been going to him now for a long time. His son has joined him in the practice and he is a great dentist too. Good Neighbors

It is great to have good neighbors. One of my neighbors called me today and she needed to go to the store. However, her husband was gone for the day and she had no way to get there. I told her I would pick her up on my way to get the mail and she was really glad to hear that. I had baked some cookies so took her along a bag of them. She was going in and have a cup of hot tea and cookies when we got home. She helps us a lot with our little dog when we are gone. Labels: good neighbors
High Winds

We have very winds today. They said we would have sustained winds of at least 25 mph and even more. Tomorrow is supposed to be more of the same. I just went to the store and it actually blew gravel into my shoes. When I got home in the garage, I had to take off my shoes and dump them out. It took me a long time to figure out why our German shephard had gained so much weight over the past copule of months. I really couldn't understand ti because I was giving him teh same amount of food as always and still taking him on the same amount of walks. Then one day I caught my 5 year old giving him more food and figured out that he had been doing that for a while after he saw me feed the dog.
Well, first I told my son that he couldn't feed the dog at all and if he would, he would make the dog sick. Then I went on my DIRECT TV Internet and tried to look for stuff that I could do to help our dog lose the extra weight healthily before it started causing him health problems. I found this new kind of dog food that's suppsoed to be a diet food so I tracked down some of that in the grocery store and bought it.
Another thing that I'm doing is make sure that he gets some more dog exercise.
