We have 4 married children and we all have born again Christian homes, for which I am very thankful. We are delighted to see this passed down from generation to generation. I am a people person and love visiting, and helping them too, in any way I can. I love a good cup of hot tea with friends, neighbors, or family. Our 10th great grandchild is well on the way. She will arrive in early December in time for her first Christmas. There will be a baby shower on Saturday for her and I am sure it will be a lot of fun. My daughter is going to pick me up and I am glad to have someone else doing the driving. It is also nice to have more family there and they are having the shower about half way between where we live and where they live. I hope the weather is good. It has been lousy today and I think we will still have wind warnings tomorrow and maybe more rain. They thought we would see a few snow flurries today but we didn't. Yay! Chocolate Cake

Unless you allergic to chocolate, is there anyone who doesn't love chocolate cake? The best chocolate cake we make in our family is to make a 9 x 13 and then split it in half. Put half back in the pan and then cover it with a recipe of cream filling like they put in twinkies. Then top it with the other half of the cake and frost it white or chocolate - your choice. Buying Baby Gifts

It is kind of fun buying baby gifts. At least I think so. Clothing styles have really changed since my kids were little. They have such cute outfits for them. They never had hoodies like they have today both for boys and girls. And it is neat to get a set that contains 3 or 4 pieces that can all be mixed and matched to make more outfits than just one. Wal-Mart Shopping

We have a great Wal-Mart only about 20 miles from us. When we go to the doctor, we always combine a trip to Wal-Mart to pick up things that we can't get in our home town. We can also get many things at much less cost such as cereal and paper goods. They have a huge selection of groceries and frozen foods and a bigger selection so we can have a change by buying there now and then. Care Centers

Care Centers are becoming quite versatile. They now have whole sections where they perform physical therapy on patients that are there just for a few days or weeks. My brother has been in one now for 4 weeks due to knee surgery. He had a few complications and it is taking longer to get over the surgery than expected. MRI

My husband had to have a head and neck MRI today. He has been having trouble with his hands. He has been dropping things without realizing it was going to happen. We thought at first it was something else causing it. However, the Doctor said the problem was coming from his neck. The best way to find out was to take x-rays and an MRI and see what was going on. Some people have called it the "dropsies" and it isn't funny when you drop a pot of coffee or a hot cup of coffee unexpectedly. Chilly Fall Weather

It has been downright cold and it is supposed to get even colder this weekend. At least we don't have any snow flying yet. I got out a warmer coat to wear outside. I have been wearing a sweater in the house too and it feels very good. Time to put another blanket on the bed soon or put the sheet blankets on the bed. First Dental Appointment

Our little 2 year old great granddaughter had her first dental appointment this week. She was so good and sat in the chair so nicely. Not all 2 year olds will do that. Her Grammy works at the dentist's office so she explained what would happen and I am sure that was a great help. She got her teeth cleaned and polished and was so good about it. Heated Blanket

We live in a state that gets very cold in the winter. The cold is already spreading across our state and nights are getting below frost temperatures. As soon as it gets this cold, we really appreciate our heated blanket. We have gone through several of them and I think this year it is time to get a new one again. There is nothing so comforting at night when you climb into bed and your blanket has warmed the bed. I like to turn it on just a little while before bedtime and it is so cozy then. New Home

Our grandson and his family have bought a new home in the country. It is a beautiful home with great buildings on it and a big double garage. It has many beautiful flowers and a lovely yard. They have two little boys who are having so much fun there and will love growing up there. They have the advantage of being right on the blacktop too and not far from town. It is Pizza Ranch night tonight. The Pizza ranch has been very good to us. Since we go there a lot, they send us special coupons. This week we got a coupon for 2 free buffets for our anniversary. We are going to use that tonight. I think that is very nice of them. They treat their customers with respect and kindness. When you go in, they always ask if there is some special pizza you would like them to make. We usually ask for a peach or apple cactus bread for dessert. Mulching Leaves

The leaves have really come down now. My husband is out with the mower and the mulching blade. He wants to mulch up all the leaves so the lawn looks a little nicer. It is good fertilizer for the lawn. We never rake the leaves. They have outlawed burning leaves anyway now almost everywhere. Moving Day

Next week will be moving day for our grandson and his family. They have purchased a lovely acreage and are very excited about it. It is well taken care of and there is very little they have to do to it. However, they did remodel and update the bathroom and a little carpeting and they are read to move in. We received a beautiful vase of flowers from a dear friend I used to work with. She always is so thoughtful. They are beautiful autumn flowers and were a nice surprise for our 60th anniversary. We will be celebrating it tomorrow, October 8. We went out for supper tonight for Mexican and not sure what we will do yet tomorrow night. We have received at least 30 cards so far. Anniversary Party to Celebrate 60 Years

Our kids worked hard to put on a wonderful 60th anniversary party. Much work was done to make a DVD of our life together over those 60 years. It is so neat to see how the family grew. And it was great to watch the kids grow up again and then their families growing. It took a lot of work to put it together but they did a wonderful job of it.
