We have 4 married children and we all have born again Christian homes, for which I am very thankful. We are delighted to see this passed down from generation to generation. I am a people person and love visiting, and helping them too, in any way I can. I love a good cup of hot tea with friends, neighbors, or family. We are going to head up to the hospital today to see my brother. He had total knee replacement on Tuesday and has been in a great deal of pain. I talked to him last night and the pain was better so the morphine push must have started working for him. I heard they also got out a knee bending machine to use on his knee. They rarely use those anymore, I guess. But maybe it is because he waited almost too long to have it replaced. He should have done it 5 years ago. If you need a knee replacement it is much better to get it done in your 60's than your 70's.

Lawn Mowing

Since we have had so much rain, the grass is growing again. It has been so cool and it was dry for quite awhile so the grass didn't grow any. But now we have had plenty of rain and finally some warm weather too. So it looks like we are going to have to mow at least one more time. Will soon have to put a little mulch over some of the new bulbs in the flower bed so they don't freeze out. Sounds like we could have less snow for a covering of protection for them. New Shoes

I ordered my New Balance shoes the other day. They called last night and said they were in so I can pick them up. I don't know if I want to go today though as they are predicting all kinds of heavy rains. We have already had quite a few go through. But they also say the winds will be really strong and possible flooding on roads. I think I will call them and tell them I will be there tomorrow. It is supposed to nice then. Can you believe it? September is almost over and the next thing we know we will be way in to October. Then the Halloween parties begin and I bet you have not even thought about the adult halloween costumes. The Moms are always busy lining up the costumes for their children but at the last minute, they remember they need one of their own to attend an adult Halloween party. This year, why not go for a sexy costume for a change. There are so many that I saw when I was looking into the Internet. Church Service

We had a really great church service this morning. The Praise and Worship music was simply wonderful. The youth group has the music this morning and they really rocked the house. We enjoy so much singing and clapping with the music. We have large screens with the words on them so we can easily sing along. Then our Pastor Kris taught this morning and she was really good. She covered many things that people often avoid saying and those things needed to be said to everyone. We need to witness to those people around us who are lost and on their way to Hell. It seems now days everyone thinks there are several Gods and everyone is going to Heaven. It is very sad when someone you know has gone the wrong way and you know they didn't go to Heaven. My Printer

I was blessed to get my Epson printer free. It was brand new and the lady didn't know how to run it correctly and she said it was just taking up room in her closet. She had just moved into an assisted living apartment and didn't have a lot of room to start with. She was so glad to have me take it off her hands. I love it because the ink is so cheap. My husband's brother traded cars. They got a beautiful red Buick. His wife says they are still learning all the new bells and whistles it has. At times they will accidently open the trunk and another time turn on the windshield wipers without meaning too. They are trying to learn all the new stuff before they go south for the winter. Cousins

Here are two little cousins playing together. They will grow up together and have a great deal of fun. These are two of our little great grandsons. They are growing up so fast. It would be nice if we were able to visit with them and they lived closer. Little Maddox is crawling now and then it isn't long and they are walking. Then they will really have a lot of fun.

It seems like we are always on the verge of being out of milk. When I go get the mail, I run to the store and pick up a few things. I notice the prices seem to be rising all the time. However, they have some pretty good sales on some of the stuff I buy so I have to pay attention. I like to get a big roast and cut it in half and have two crockpot roasts out of it. Wow! Is it ever raining here. We got a half inch in no time at all. It is a good thing we got our lawn mowed when we did. As my husband was finishing up, it began to thunder. They say when you hear thunder you should get indoors as it may appear to be safe but you are not safe from lightning. Homemade Soup

I have been making quite a bit of homemade soup lately. It is really nice to have a big bowl of soup in the refrigerator so you can fix a quick lunch. We have three soups that I make quite a lot. We just finished a good batch of chili and before that I had made a batch of rice soup. It has meat, carrots, potatoes and rice in a good beef base. We also love homemade whole pea soup. I have to order the whole peas because everyone has split peas and this soup is made with beef and beef stock. It is a whole different soup from split pea and ham soup. Christmas Yard Decorations

It may seem a little early to be thinking of christmas yard decorations but it isn't. They already have some things in the stores and it isn't Halloween yet. But you can get good buys if you start early and it is fun to get something new and different from all your neighbors. I was shopping the Internet and I found some really neat decorations for our yard. I just love the ones that look like lit up Christmas presents. Tropical Storm Hermine

I was watching the news and this Tropical Storm has really caused a great deal of trouble in Texas. We have relatives living in Dallas and I heard they had 4 tornadoes. One of them was shown on TV and was downtown and huge and did a lot of damage. We also heard that Arlington was flooded and 2 years ago our grandson and his family were living there. Are these the musicians of the future? Our little great granddaughter and great grandson are joining together at the piano. He is growing up so fast. They have so much fun together. It reminds me of me and my little brother. We have always been very close all our lives and I think these two will be close also. It is so much fun to watch them at play, no matter what they are doing.
New Restaurant

My family and I are going out tonight to try a new restaurant. We have heard lots of good things about it. It was once an old drive in and the people completely redid the building and redecorated and we hear the food is just super. We have a wedding coming up at the end of the month. I also have been invited to a wedding shower in a couple of weeks. I really feel that personalized gifts mean a lot more to the person receiving the gifts. So I checked out the Internet and found I could get some really neat gifts with their names on them. Car Shopping

Our relatives in Wisconsin have been car shopping. They finally settled on a Buick that is just gorgeous. It is a beautiful red with all the bells and whistles they wanted and at the right price too. They will be taking it to Texas this year and staying in a Condo instead of pulling a trailer. They have decided it is just as cheap to do that and doesn't cost a bit more and will be less stress and battling the traffic. I am glad they got such a good car.
