We have 4 married children and we all have born again Christian homes, for which I am very thankful. We are delighted to see this passed down from generation to generation. I am a people person and love visiting, and helping them too, in any way I can. I love a good cup of hot tea with friends, neighbors, or family. I hate lawn mowing. My husband loves to keep a nice looking lawn and that is fine with me. But he continually seeds it and fertilizes it and then it grows like a weed. It looks really great but I get tired of mowing and mowing. This year, my old mower finally died. We put it on the city wide junk pickup and someone took it home. I think they will be disappointed as the gas tank leaks and it is old style and you can't just take it off and put a new one on. I don't want us to buy me a new mower. They always tell you not to put all your eggs in one basket when investing. Stocks are good but have you thought about investing in gold as a safe investment. Out for a Ride

We went out for a nice ride today. We went down to the gravel pits where we used to fish for years. The DNR has taken it over and it has changed a great deal. We could not believe how the bushes and trees had grown since we were there last. It was mostly blacktopped road to get there but then we had to drive on a couple miles of gravel. Long Weekend

This has been a nice long weekend. We started out by going out to eat last night. It was a new place we hadn't tried before and it was delicious. We will have to go back there again. Then we went and visited my husband's grave and put some flowers on it. It has been a hot day but the a/c is running and the house is very comfortable. Hot Weather

It is another scorcher today. The grass isn't growing so you know it is hot. I bet there are a great many kids at the pools today. Our neighbors pulled out their little girl's pool and filled it yesterday. It is fun to watch her play in it. She had so many toys in the pool she could hardly get in. It was funny to watch. Baby Dedication

Today one of our little great grandsons is being dedicated. It is quite aways for us to go so we won't be going but his grandparents will be there. One of his grandfathers is the Pastor of the church where he will be dedicated and that has to be special for him. We don't believe in baptizing babies but instead dedicate them back to the Lord. Louisiana Cosmetology School

I know that when I think cosmetology, the name Regency immediately come into my mind. At our local stores and malls, there are wonderful salons and the people were trained well at their schools. They have been expanding and now there is a Louisiana Cosmetology School. That is great for Louisiana, a State that has had so many problems in the past with the big hurricane and now the oil problems. I am sure there are many in Louisiana who wish to start or complete their education in cosmetology and now is their time to do this. What a wonderful opportunity to learn under one of the best. Memorial Day

This is a long weekend and many are taking vacations and happy to be off work for a few days. It is Memorial Day weekend and this is the time to fly your American flag and salute our Veterans of all wars for a job well done. If it wasn't for them, we wouldn't be able to have our family get togethers and vacations over this weekend in the land of the free and home of the brave. There certainly has been a great deal of talk about hgh pills, but are they safe to take? I know many people feel they are not a safe ingredient to put into your body. However, your body makes its own human growth hormone as you are developing in your early years. I checked the Internet and was very interested to learn that it helps determine your height and bone size. Short as I am, I guess I should have had more in puberty and I might have been taller. Oh well, it is too late for me but many people, especially men are using it to build up their muscles and it works. So I am not sure if it is safe or not but a good many feel that it is safe to use.

There is hardly a business today that cannot operate without a good barcode scanner. I have worked with a scanner while putting greeting cards in a local store. New Blouses

I finally got some new summer blouses to wear in and out of the house. They are really beautiful bright colors. The last ones I got were not so colorful. I just love the reds and designs. It is always fun to get something new to wear. We get bored with our wardrobes and need changes.

HOT Weather

We have the strangest weather. Just a short time ago it was so cold it froze off some of the flowers. They were worried the new little corn sprouts would freeze. Now we have high 80's and 90's. I know this diet aid is sold as a prescription drug under the name phentermine and at one time I thought it was a great pill to slow down your appetite. Now you can get adipex without prescription and I am not so sure that is such a great idea. It has been found through the years that often it really works good for a couple of weeks and then stops working. The side effects are frightening so I guess it is up to each person to decide whether they want to take the chance with it. Mother's Day is always special and although Mother's Day is past for this year, every day is really your mother's day. Do you remember jello jigglers? I used to make them to take them to picnics. Our family is now making them. But they make they in different shapes with cookie cutters. I think that is really neat. The kids just love to be able to pick up their jello and eat it with their hands. You can use any flavor too and they are always a big hit.

Don't these twice baked potatoes make you hungry? Check out our granddaughter-in-law's new blog about cooking. She has fabulous recipes for everything. It makes me hungry just reading through it. When you look at the pictures, you can almost taste the food. She has such a great talent in so many ways besides cooking too. Our family is really growing. It is down to the 4th generation now. My husband never knew any of his grandparents. He was No. 11 of 12 children and they were all dead by the time he was born. That is kind of sad when you think about it. It is so neat to watch great grandchildren growing up so fast. He missed out a lot not having grandparents.
