We have 4 married children and we all have born again Christian homes, for which I am very thankful. We are delighted to see this passed down from generation to generation. I am a people person and love visiting, and helping them too, in any way I can. I love a good cup of hot tea with friends, neighbors, or family. I remember the days when we were babysitting our grandkids. It seems like only yesterday sometimes. Now they have their own children and they have children too. Our daughter spent some time this weekend babysitting her two grandchildren. Doesn't it look like she is having a great deal of fun? Well, she is. They love to see and take care of their grandchildren every chance they get.
Supper Out

Had a great time Friday night with family. Got to see our grandson and his wife and son and had a good meal and a good visit. Emry is all smiles and is willing to eat anything. He's not a bit picky. He loves macaroni and cheese but doesn't every kid? He is such a great little great grandson. I am glad we will get to see them more now they have moved back here.

Prostate Cancer

My husband had his checkup yesterday for prostate cancer. His PSA was 0.3 which is very good. It was way up to 16 and they gave him a hormone shot that brought it way down. Labels: Family, hormone shots, prostate cancer
The doctor says they have new thinking about giving the hormone shots every 3 months. They believe that the cancer cells actually eventually become immune to the shots and therefore quit working. When the PSA stays down, they won't give a hormone shot until if and when it rises again. That was good news as my husband will have gone a year since his one hormone shot last December. He will see the doctor again this December to find out how he is doing then.
He had 42 radiation treatments in 2000 and that took care of it for over 7 years so that did a good job. It is good now not to have to take regular hormone shots every 3 months.
Fall is In The Air

Fall is in the air. It is just a beautiful sunny day today. The sun isn't as hot now that it is farther from us so 80 degree days are more enjoyable than in the heat of summer. The trees are really turning all colors and the birds are leaving for the South. The beans are all yellow and turning brown and won't be long before Harvest starts. The corn is really drying too but they say it needs a little more time to mature and they are hoping we don't get an early frost. So far so good. This is a great time of the year. Physical Therapy - Week 5

Well, it finally looks like the swelling of my knee is going down slow but sure. My doctor was walking down the hall as I went to therapy and she stopped and looked at my knee. She said she could see the swelling has gone down some and she could see my knee. The therapist also said swelling has gone down behind the knee as well. She worked on massaging my knee cap to make sure it is moving. I guess they can get bound up and if they don't move, it hinders bending your knee. Labels: knee, physical therapy
Fall is in the Air

Fall is in the air and it is still summer for nearly 3 weeks yet. Could this mean we will have a hard winter? The old timers think so. We have really had a cold summer. We certainly have had no signs of global warming in this area. In fact, I think most of us would have welcomed some. You have to cover up with blankets at night or turn on the furnace. It just shouldn't be this way in early September. I hope we have a lot of Indian summers to enjoy before the snow flies. Labels: Fall, hard winter, summer, weather

Family Are Coming

We have 2 nieces and a sister-in-law coming from Texas in 2 weeks. We haven't seen them for many years and are excited. Our sister-in-law is going to be 91 on September 8 and they are leaving to see us on September 9. I hope the trip won't be too hard on her.
We are hoping to get as many cousins together as possible and have a good meal somewhere when they get here. They have a lot of visiting to do as they are coming to see 2 sisters and a brother and many cousins. I hope the weather warms up, although they say it is so hot in Texas, it is going to be really enjoyable to get here to our cooler weather. Our nights have been so cold, they will be bringing light jackets too.
