About Me

We have 4 married children and we all have born again Christian homes, for which I am very thankful. We are delighted to see this passed down from generation to generation. I am a people person and love visiting, and helping them too, in any way I can. I love a good cup of hot tea with friends, neighbors, or family. And now blogging has become my latest passion, many thanks to a wonderful grandson. May you all find the joy, peace and happiness in our Lord Jesus Christ that I have found.

New Television Program

Posted by clare3

I watched the new program on Fox called "Touch" last night. At first I wasn't sure if I was going to like it. However, it has Kiefer Sutherland in it who did the programs "24" and really liked him in those. It was enjoyable and I will be watching it some more. I love all the CSI programs and NCIS too. I like exciting programs. Another new one is "Revenge" and "Body of Proof" and I enjoy both of those as well.

Moving can be so Exciting

Posted by clare3

Moving to a new home or apartment can be so exciting. If you are moving to a totally different place, it is really exciting to me. It saves a lot of time and effort if you are planning to move to Canada. Specifically http://www.rentcalgary.com/ is a great place to start. I know that I always use the Internet for the best of anything I am looking for. Perhaps you may be moving to Calgary and are looking for an apartment. It is easy to line one up at your price and size. Or it may be a house you wish to rent for your family. Either way, you can see pictures and prices and choose the area in which you wish to live. It makes everything so much easier.

What a Winter

Posted by clare3

First we don't have but 5" of snow for almost 2 1/2 months and then BAM! We got about 6" and then 3-4" more and now tonight they are talking a bit more perhaps. However, one good thing is that it is really melting. The plows have done a good job on the city streets and hope they keep it up. There is now a lot of slush again. They could push that off and the streets would almost be clear. Now if it would just dry. They say overnight the roads will freeze and be slick in the morning and I have to drive somewhere. I hope it is ok when I leave.

Buy Gazebo

Posted by clare3

I have decided that I want to add something to our home where we can sit and relax with a good cup of coffee, tea or capiccino. Several things came to mind, however, to buy gazebo seemed to be the best option of all. My sister has one and they enjoy it so much. Every morning they out and watch the sunrise with a hot cup of coffee and sit in their gazebo and relax. In looking around for one, we found the Amish make the most beautiful Gazebo. They have the skills to make really fine products of several materials.

Let's Eat Cake

Posted by clare3

I found a great easy recipe to make just a little cake when you crave some:

3, 2, 1 CAKE
These individual little cakes are amazing and ready to eat in one minute! They are perfect
for whenever you feel like a treat without all the fat and calories that cake can have. Genius idea!

INGREDIENTS:
1 box Angel Food Cake Mix
1 box Cake Mix - Any Flavor
2 Tbsp Water
Makes 1 serving.

DIRECTIONS:
In a ziploc bag, combine the two cake mixes together and mix well. For each individual cake serving, take out 3 Tablespoons of the cake mix combination and mix it with 2 Tablespoons of water in a small microwave-safe container. Microwave on high for 1 minute, and you have
your own instant individual little cake!

KEEP remaining cake mixture stored in the ziploc bag and use whenever you feel like a treat! You can top each cake with a dollop of fat free whipped topping and/or some fresh fruit.

Helpful Tips:
This recipe is called 3, 2, 1 Cake because all you need to remember is
"3 tablespoons mix, 2 tablespoons water, 1 minute in the microwave!"

TRY various flavors of cake mix like carrot, red velvet, pineapple, lemon, orange, etc. Just remember that one of the mixes has to be the angel food mix; the other is your choice.
The flavor possibilities are endless!

NOTES:
The best thing is, you open both cake mixes into a gallon storage bag, one that 'zip locks' or 'self-seals', or a container that seals tightly, shake the two cake mixes to blend and then make the recipe. Storage of mix is simple, put it on a shelf. No need to refrigerate, since the mix is dry. Always remember, that one of the cake mixes MUST be Angel Food. The other can be any flavor. The Angel Food is the cake mix that has the egg whites in it. So, if, anyone is allergic to egg whites, DO NOT serve this recipe.

Camera Tripods

Posted by clare3

We just had a late family Christmas at my granddaughter's home. And of course, anytime the family gets together, out some all the cameras. However, if you want to get a picture of the whole family, you have to do it so that even the one taking the picture gets into the photo. That is where camera tripods are definitely needed. In shopping for a new one, checking out the Internet is a good place to start. You can find great prices on any size, height, weight tripod you need.

9 Days Left in January

Posted by clare3

We are so lucky that there are only 9 days left in January. It always seems like the longest, coldest, snowy month of the year. But not this year. It was pretty decent with no snow up until now. Winter has now set in and we have plenty to shovel. It seems like every morning I have to shovel my way across the deck to get the newspaper. Then sometimes I have to shovel multiple times a day because it builds up in front of the door. One thing about it, we are this much closer to Spring. Yay!!
